At Quick Brown Fox Bookshop, we believe in giving back to the community that has supported us from the very beginning. Through meaningful initiatives and partnerships with local schools, kindergartens, and community groups, we aim to foster a love of reading and ensure that everyone has access to wonderful books and stories. We know how vital it is to nurture literacy and curiosity in readers of all ages, and we’re committed to doing our part to share the joy of books far and wide, helping to build a future where every child and family can discover the magic of great literature.
We are proud to partner with organisations that share our mission of getting books into the hands of all children, especially those who might otherwise miss out. By working together with community groups, charities, and literacy programs, we hope to distribute books to classrooms, libraries, and homes, sparking imaginations and opening doors to new worlds. Every child deserves the chance to fall in love with reading, and we’re dedicated to making that possible, one book at a time.
If you’re part of an organisation that would like to partner with us to donate and coordinate books for children and families in your community, we’d love to hear from you. Together, we can make a real difference and inspire a lifelong love of reading for every child.
A story-sharing space for future all
The Ally Lab is a joy-filled pop-up community Library project that brings inclusive stories, brave conversations, and playful learning into public spaces.
At the heart of Ally Lab is a simple yet powerful idea:
Books help children feel seen. Books help children see others.
Together with Quick Brown Fox Bookstore, we’re making sure more children across Australia have access to the kinds of stories that build empathy, spark curiosity, and create a deep sense of belonging and Allyship.
It’s a “Buy One, Give One” model, with heart.
Here’s how you can get involved:
Every book you buy becomes a gift: placed directly into the hands of a child who may not otherwise have access to inclusive stories. These are books that reflect a wide range of identities, cultures, and experiences because every child deserves to feel seen.
One in three students in Australia aren’t reading at their expected level. One in five start school behind in language and communication. And for too many children, the books they’re handed don’t reflect who they are.
We’re not here to teach kids to read, we’re here to make sure they have something worth reading.
Books that act as mirrors and windows.
Books that build empathy, connection, and belonging.
Books that say: you matter.
That’s the power of representation.
That’s the heart of Ally Lab.
At Ally Lab, we draw on the influential work of educator and scholar Dr. Rudine Sims Bishop, who describes books as:
🪞 Mirrors – reflecting a child’s own identity and experience
🪟 Windows – offering a view into the lives of others
🚪 Sliding Glass Doors – inviting readers to step into new worlds with empathy and imagination
We use this framework to guide our book selections and community experiences, ensuring that children are not only seen, but also encouraged to see, understand, and connect with others.
This is more than a book drive. It’s a moment of care, an invitation to connect, and a way to build stronger communities—one child, one story, one act of allyship at a time.
Expand Your Library is a social impact organisation activating allyship through workshops, consulting, and story-led programs that promote equity, empathy, and inclusion for all children.
We create tools, experiences, and resources that help communities grow braver, more inclusive, and more connected, starting with the stories we share.
We’re the team behind:
Buy one. Give one. Shape the future.
Your book could be the first time a child feels truly seen or sees the world in a new way.

Because allyship doesn’t just mean standing up.
It means reaching out.
Our upcoming Ally Lab project is an initiative supporting patients at Queensland Children’s Hospital through the Children’s Hospital Foundation. Queensland.
Children’s Hospital cares for children and young people with a wide range of illnesses, injuries, and conditions from across Queensland and northern New South Wales.
Together, we hope to help young people feel inspired, supported, and seen through uplifting stories that offer comfort, hope, and gentle healing for the mind. Through the Foundation’s much-loved Book Bunker program, children can borrow books, enjoy stories at their bedside, and find comfort in reading during their hospital stay.
